The Poultry Man stainless steel scalders ensure you get the perfect scald on your chickens (broilers and hens), turkeys, guineas, and other poultry. These poultry scalders are thermostatically controlled and programmed to keep the water at 147 degrees Fahrenheit. A 110v power source controls the thermostat. The actual burner is propane fired.
If you can only afford to buy one piece of processing equipment, a scalder should be your first buy. Without a proper scald, plucking is a chore. A properly scalded chicken or turkey can easily be plucked by hand.
