PASA Poultry Processing Field Day

Eli Reiff will host a poultry processing field on his farm in Mifflinburg on August 31, 2011. And we’re going to be there with our MPU!

Participants will be introduced to poultry processing, from facility design to post-processing practices to meeting regulations and requirements. In the morning, while the day is still cool, we will begin with the hands-on bird processing portion of the workshop. Participants will practice processing in groups at stations using both a mobile processing unit (MPU) and a stationary facility.

Eli invited us to bring our MPU to farm for the day to cover the mobile processing. The plan is to split into two groups. While one groups processes with Eli, the other group will check out the MPU with Mike and Christie. Then we’ll switch.
